One of the most striking features of Nag's head is the huge sand dune known as Jockey's Ridge. This sand dune has migrated over time resulting in a miniature golf course and the old Nag's Head Hotel being buried.
In addition to the beach, there are several fishing piers and other family attractions. There is a beach on the sound side of Nags Head.
