Boating in the Outer Banks
The Outer Banks do not have the density of marinas such as you might find at
the Jersey Shore. There are some lagoon front homes where private boats are
kept. The lighter traffic can mean a lot more enjoyment for sailing, windsurfing
or cruising in a pontoon boat.
If you want to go boating, you can trailer your own boat and use one of the
boat ramps or rent a boat. A Waverunner will run about $100 per hour. You can
rent a Kayak for a week for about the same amount. An all day rental of a
pontoon boat will run about $500 or so.
